Celebration of Republic Day, Kalka

Dashan Academy, Kalka celebrated the 71st Republic Day of India with great zeal. Students were made aware about the rights and duties of being a citizen in the largest democracy in the world. The tricolour was unfurled by chief guest retired BEO of Kalka, Mrs. Munni Devi, along with headmistress, Ms. Bellarani Hood, and parent representatives. A march past, patriotic songs, and dance were performed by students as well as teachers. The main attraction was the skit performances of the great events of Indian history from the year 1857 to article 370. The chief guest was given a plant as a memento. The celebration was concluded by distributing sweets among the students.

Lohri Celebration, Kalka

Darshan Academy, Kalka celebrated Lohri festival with a special assembly conducted by teachers on a Punjabi theme. Students enjoyed the bonfire along with their teachers and learned the importance of Lohri and the legend behind it. They enjoyed dancing, flying kites and traditional foods i.e. nuts, revri, popcorn and gachak. National Youth Day was also celebrated. Students performed speeches and presented their views about how they want to become successful people. Headmistress Ms Bella Rani Hood wished the students a Happy New Year and a prosperous life ahead.

Social Science Exhibition, Kalka

Darshan Academy, Kalka organized a social science exhibition on 28th December 2019 and invited special guests, Mrs. Kamlesh Kumari, Ret. Principal Govt. School Pinjore, and Mr. Lakhpat Rai Jangra, Director of Sambodh Playway School. The exhibition showcased a number of cultural performances put on by students of all classes that included regional folk dances, a puppet dance, and skits on historical events. It was a remarkable effort put on by the DA, Kalka team.

Thanksgiving Day, Delhi

Darshan Academy, Delhi held Thanksgiving Day as a special day for Darshanites to reflect and thank God for all the blessings showered on them and for the beautiful experiences they have had throughout the year. The function started with students presenting a mono-act offering gratitude to Mother Nature, parents, siblings, friends, mentors, and teachers. The play was followed by a dance to a Thanksgiving prayer. The principal, Mr. A. David, wished the staff and students meaningful experiences in the coming New Year.

Christmas Celebration, Kalka

Darshan Academy, Kalka’s Christmas celebration was dedicated to its Silver Jubilee year with a very beautiful Christmas tree decorated with replicas of all the Darshan Academies. The tree was decorated to show the beauty of nature with white snow showing peace and red coloured Santas showing the warmth of love in winter. Some students dressed as Santas and distributed chocolates and toffees and all the students sang carols.

Roti Bank, Kalka

So that students learn the value of food in life and to spread love to all, Darshan Academy, Kalka decided to practice a social service, Roti Bank, every Thursday. On 12.12.2019 students of STD. VI along with their teacher, Mr. Jaswant, went to the slum areas of Nalagarh Road to provide food packets to the poor and needy.

Colour Day, Kalka

Darshan Academy, Kalka celebrated Brown Day as part of the colour day celebrations in a fully enthusiastic manner. The tiny tots came with brown attire along with their brown coloured toys and brought brown food for their lunch. Students of UKG made brown crowns while nursery and LKG classes picked up brown objects and enjoyed various brown food. Teachers also presented a story with the help of brown soft toys. It was an energetic and enjoyable brown colour day.

Meditation Camp, Kalka

Darshan Academy, Kalka organized its first meditation camp for teachers and students as a part of the 25th Silver Jubilee celebration. The headmistress made the students aware of the benefits of meditation: how it can improve concentration and focus, how it can make you feel more energetic and peaceful, and how it is a way to make a connection with the Divine within. Students were then instructed in the steps followed in meditation and given the opportunity to ask questions. Teachers and students reported feeling more energetic, calm and peaceful after this meditation session.

Children’s Day, Kalka

Darshan Academy, Kalka took the initiative to make and celebrate Children’s Day in a special way. Class wise game activities that included hoop cross and tug of war were organized for students of classes from pre-nursery to VIII Std. Teachers presented a dance performance to show their love for children

Neki Ki Deewar Project, Kalka

For the last four years, Darshan Academy, Kalka has organized a Neki Ki Deewar, Wall of Kindness, project to sow the seeds of selfless service among the students. The project entails collecting and offering clothes and items for people in need in view of the coming winter months. On 13 November 2019, a group of distinguished guests were invited to inaugurate the project in the school. They addressed and motivated the students for this important social service.
